A derelict and fire-damaged pub on a highly visible corner site in East Barnet presented an opportunity to bring a long-neglected plot back into productive use. The scheme delivers three generously sized family houses alongside a purpose-built day nursery, replacing a building that had become a blight on the neighbourhood with a development that actively serves it.
The design draws from the established residential character of the surrounding streets, with red brick, hipped roof forms and articulated frontages that sit comfortably within the local grain while giving the corner plot the presence it deserves.
